2. Information for vets:
Many veterinary practices/groups
are now starting to work closely with their local veterinary physiotherapist
in order to provide a more complete physiotherapy/rehabilitation
service, and achieve better outcomes for their clients.
Referrals can be made in several ways:
- By completing a referral
form and sending it by post or fax to the address/fax number on
the form. This indicates veterinary approval for Brian to go ahead
and assess/treat the animal in question. Brian will always refer
back if there is any cause for concern, or if he requires additional
information regarding the animal’s condition.
A copy of the referral form has been included on this site (click on "Forms / Leaflets"). If you require a hard copy, you can always obtain
one by phoning 07960 091698, faxing your requirements to 01895
274150, or sending an email caninephysio@yahoo.co.uk.
- By phoning and speaking
to Brian direct. Details can be given over the phone.
Leaflets advertising the canine physiotherapy service are available
for your waiting area, and a copy has been included on this site
(click on "Forms / Leaflets"). If you require more, please phone, fax or email your requirements (details above). If any of your
clients are interested, they can then contact Brian direct, and
discuss the appropriateness of physio for their animal’s condition.
Brian will always contact you to obtain permission and further information
before visiting the client.
Insurance: Most insurance companies provide cover for physiotherapy as long as it is carried out by a chartered physiotherapist, with the approval/referral of a veterinary surgeon. In addition, some companies will only cover hydrotherapy costs if a chartered physiotherapist is supervising the sessions.
