Radial pulsed shockwave delivers an electromechanical wave of energy which provides the patient with a more comfortable treatment experience.

Shockwave is often implemented as a conservative management option for patients suffering from musclar, tendon and ligament conditions. The body responds to the electromechanical shockwwaves by increasing metabolic activity around the treatment site. This process stimulates and accelerates the healing process. Shockwave therapy may also breakdown scar tissue and calcification within the soft tissues.

To be effective it is neessary to run a course of treatment (normally 6-12 sessions) and then follow the shockwave course with more traditional physio and hydrotherapy approaches.

It is the only PRO-inflammatory treatment avaialble to physiotherapists and the technology utilised by Canine Physio does NOT require sedation during treatment.
